Columbia Industries, a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization, focuses on developing the work skills of people with disabilities. Building on their “unique abilities”, we provide vocational training that will lead to community employment.
A client is a person with “unique abilities” learning valuable work skills.
Columbia Industries helps people with disabilities and other barriers to employment achieve their highest employment potential. This allows them to achieve self-sufficiency and contribute to the productivity of our community.
CI’s vision is a community where individuals who desire to work, are provided the training, education and employment opportunities to achieve their goal. Work is the best social program, and CI is the proven provider for individuals with unique challenges. Through positive community partnerships, CI demonstrates success in training, job development and employment of individuals with barriers to employment.
A Brief History
Columbia Industries started helping people in 1963 as United Cerebral Palsy Association of Benton and Franklin Counties. The purpose for forming the non-profit agency was clear: to promote the general welfare of persons with cerebral palsy and other handicaps.
Today, our goals are similar, as we focus on helping as many people with disabilities as we can. The slogan that appears in our logo, “Your Partner for Success!” was chosen to reflect our commitment to successful partnerships with our clients, our community, our board members, our staff, our donors – everyone who plays a part in our organization.
In 1981, we adopted the name Columbia Industries to reflect our growth over the previous 18 years. Today we serve hundreds of people each year. Our dedicated staff works with our clients to provide a diverse array of products and services for the community.
CI Support, LLC, doing business as CI Shred and CI Information Management, is a for-profit subsidiary, wholly owned by Columbia Industries. Profits generated from the LLC benefit the Columbia Industries mission.
