Our Clients

Columbia Industries, a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization, focuses on developing the work skills of people with disabilities. Building on their “unique abilities”, we provide vocational training that will lead to community employment.

A client is a person with “unique abilities” learning valuable work skills. We serve clients with a variety of developmental and physical disabilities.

In addition to our vocational training services, Columbia Industries is pleased to offer day services for adults with disabilities. Read more about our Community Center, a safe, creative, and supervised place for people with disabilities to find social connection, life enrichment, and community integration.

Columbia Industries’ board of directors and staff are proud to host celebrations throughout the year for our clients and their families.

During the Annual Client Picnic, the prestigious Dan Dibble Award is presented to a deserving client, who is nominated by their peers. Dan worked for Columbia Industries for 13 years, passing away in 1995. Dan was a hard worker who was very nice to everyone he met and he tried to do his best on any job that was asked of him. The award is given based on four characteristics: team player, positive attitude, reliability, and quality of work.

Tenure awards for every five years of service with Columbia Industries are also presented. To date, our most tenured clients have been with us for over 40 years!

It’s also a time for our clients to celebrate their successes and share stories with others. There’s also plenty of fun…games, activities, and of course, karaoke!

Even before the summer picnic is over, clients look forward to the Holiday Dinner in December. Staff and board members put on a huge turkey meal, complete with all the trimmings. There’s lots of fun…and even a guest appearance by Santa!
